BVZ review over at Webcomic Asylum
April 13th, 2010
Hey guys, I know you all love BVZ!
But if you wanna see what others think of it, you can check out Jack’s review over at Webcomic Asylum. He seemed to like it, aside from all of my animal characters being familiar with pop culture. I guess animals don’t watch TV or surf the web like I always assumed they did. Oh well.
Overall I thought it was a fair review, so go and help Jack out by reading it. He’s trying to get back into this review thing, and we all need more webcomic reviewers out there, so stop by and show your support.

I pointed out to Jack on WCL that I disagreed with him about the pop culture thing on the grounds that the basic premise of the comic affords a certain level of “Oh sure” in relation to things like that.
I say keep it, it makes the comic more relateable.
No, I agree. It’s like when I get comments like “You know that those yo-yos wouldn’t be able to penetrate a zombies skull right?”
First, zombies are fictional.
Second, this is a comic about a bear seeking revenge on said zombies. I get it, but sometimes people over think things a bit. One of my favorite comments from a reader was “There is no logic, only awesome.”
That’s kind of the way I approach things.
Thanks for reading zed.
I follow a good amount of quality webcomics, and always keep trying new ones. BvZ has no ended up on my permanent list despite being updated later, and being much newer than all the others. My reasoning is thus: Its a brilliant premise that originally seems like a one trick pony, but youve already started to read a good narrative in it, your art style is simplistic but more than functional and Im hoping it improves over time alongside the comic to become something stellar. Keeping my beady little eye on you, and I cant help but feel his comments on Webcomic asylum are kinda irrelevant considering the whole setting. Keep the pop culture jokes build rather cleanly into the story please…
Thanks Spier! I’m glad you like it.
